She once said.. “I like being a woman, even in a man’s world. After all, men can’t wear dresses, but we can wear the pants.”

So sad to hear the news of Whitney Houston. She was a legend. If you remember my post about Etta James you will know that my heart is tender for women in the music industry. Years ago it was not as easy for women to be in the music world. Whitney did struggle with drug habits but after the many years she contributed her talents for the world to see I hope that is not what we remember her as.

Thank You Whitney for pushing the envelope and setting a high bar for vocalists. I remember growing up- singing in the shower “i will always love you” at the top of my lungs… I’m certain it didn’t even compare to what your vocal chords created.

My heart goes out to her family and close friends. She will be missed.
